Known for their festive “Eat Mor Chikin”cows, Chick-Fil-A opened its doors for the first time in 1960s. Credited as being the first to put a chicken patty on a bun and sold it to the public. It was a great alternative to fast food hamburgers. Tapping into the chicken market turned out to be a wise gamble as their brand grew rapidly due to word of mouth and repeat customers.
Since it’s inception Chick-fil-A has grown to more than 1,400 locations in over 30 states. This successful company is still family owned and privately held, it is not a publicly traded company.
Chick-fil-A believes that serving chicken is not all there is to Chick-fil-A, the company believes that their purpose is to “have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.” To back up this philosophy, the company sponsors many community service activities such as character building programs for children and foster homes.
