Dallas Texas is known for many things, including being the home of the first Chili’s restaurant. The first location opened in a converted postal station on Greenville Avenue in 1975. Larry Lavine, the restaurants founder, wanted to create an informal, but full service restaurant.

They started off by offering different types of hamburgers all at a price people could afford. It was a successful concept and by the early 80’s, when Lavine sold the business to Norman E. Brinker, there were 28 location in the region.

Today the restaurant features a variety of southwestern inspired dishes and operates in all 50 states and 30 international locations.

Chili’s is always looking for friendly servers to help their customers. You will be responsible for making sure your customers have a good meal.

You’ll be assisting with order questions, placing those orders into the system for the kitchen, and making change at the table so your customers don’t have to wait in line to pay for their food. You’ll also be handling any complaints that your customers may have.

Management is key to helping a good restaurant run. As a manager your job is to make sure your crew runs as a well oiled machine. You’ll be in charge of assigning shifts and making sure each area is covered with enough wait staff. You will have to help handle customer complaints, if any, and making sure that they have a great visit. You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen and the front of house work together. Balancing the registers at night and cleanliness of the establishment are all under your supervision.

As one of the many cooks you’ll have to be able to prepare the dishes and maintain a high level of quality. Proper food handling skills are necessary and cleanliness is a must.
