Mona and Herbert opened the first The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store in Los Angeles California in September of 1963. This store, which was regularly visited by Hollywood celebrities and regular people alike, has been touted as a success model for the early coffee and tea business.
The company grew and expanded over the next thirty years until Singapore entrepreneur Victor Sasson purchased the franchise rights for Asia in 1996. Within two years the business added 29 more outlets in Singapore and Malaysia which almost doubled the size of the company. By the turn of the century Mr. Sasson bought the rest of The Coffee and Bean firm. Today, over 40 years after the first Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf store opened its doors there are 750 location in over 20 countries making it one of the largest private owned, family run coffee and tea companies in the world.
One thing that The Coffee Bean excels at is their customer service. One way you can help with that is by working as a barista. The barista is one of the most important positions on the Coffee Bean team. As he barista you値l be responsible for serving each customer with friendly individualized attention.
You値l be responsible for assisting the customer with information about the premium coffees and teas offered by The Coffee Bean.
You値l also be required to do any special tasks assigned by the manager, assistant manager, or shift supervisor which might include working special events or running errands.
Shift supervisors are another way that you can join The Coffee Bean team. As a Coffee Bean shift supervisor you値l be in charge of supervising the baristas to maintain the quality of service your customers have become accustom too. You値l also enforce all procedure and will fulfill the duties of Store or Assistant Mangers in their absence.
