Cost Plus application online- In 1958, William Amthor opened the first Cost Plus store in Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. He had started out by selling some extra rattan furniture he had, and found that the area loved that type of stuff.
So he opened a warehouse that sold exclusively wicker and imported merchandise instead of displaying it in his current furniture store. The name came from the pricing idea; it was sold at cost plus 10%, a practice which is no longer observed. It didn’t take long for the Cost Plus store to take off and it has since spread into 30 states with 259 stores.
Cost Plus Application- Today the store is known as Cost Plus World Market and they carry a variety of imported goods including dry goods such as snacks, candies and condiments. |
