On April 1, 1983 Hooters opened its doors for the first time. The company was founded by six business men in Clearwater, Florida. They actually opened the store on April first because they didn’t believe their prospect was going to succeed.

The site was one that had housed several different businesses all of which had failed. The most recent before Hooters was a former nightclub. Despite their belief that the business was doomed from the beginning the restaurant was extremely popular due to its scantily clad waitresses and good food.

There are no set requirements in order to work as a Hooter Girl but they do look for the Cheerleader/Surfer/Girl-next-door types.

If you don’t want to be a Hooter Girl that doesn’t mean you’re out of options, that means you too guys. They have positions for host/hostess who greet the customer and seat them. They also need kitchen staff. In the kitchen you will help to prep the food going to the customers. You will also be responsible for keeping the area clean and may also have to wash a dish or two. Service staff clean the tables and help the Hooter Girls prep the dining area for guests.
