Nautica application online- In 1983, David Chu and an unnamed partner started an apparel company. They mainly focused on men’s sportswear. A year later they sold the company for cash and stock to State-O-Main. State-O-Main was an apparel company that was based out of New York.

Ten years later, in 1994, State-O-Main changed its name to Nautica. The company still specialized in sportswear but had broadened their line to include women’s and children’s wear as well as home goods and fragrances.
