In 1980, PacSun opened its first store. PacSun, as the store is better known, began by selling clothing that appealed to the youth and had the vibe of Southern California.The stores started out selling casual apparel aimed at the teen market.

Since then they have added sweatshirts, jeans, and other limited accessories. Their market has broadened a little to include not just the teenage set but also to be appealing to young adults. The stores also sale select brands of footwear such as Nike, Van, and PF Flyers.

Today the stores can be found in all fifty states and Puerto Rico, with 927 locations nationwide.

Because there are so many stores, you will have many opportunities within the PacSun family. Most of their positions are the retail sales positions.

As a retail sales person you’ll be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases. You’ll be the person that the customer interacts with the most so a friendly smile and helpful attitude is a must.
You don’t have to be a retail sales person forever. PacSun likes to promote qualified associates so with the right experience you can become a store and even district manager. As a store manager you are responsible for making your store successful.

As a district manager you’ll be responsible for all the stores in your district.
There are other opportunities if you don’t feel cut out for the store. If you have a degree in accounting and finance you can find a home in the finance department. Know something about fashion; you might be better off in the design department. If you have a degree in marketing and advertising then the marketing department would be where you need to distinguish yourself. There are also opportunities in their IT department, which helps keep their stores connected and website going.
