In the Intermountain West and Southwest regions of the United States is Smiths food and drug is a leading chain of supermarkets. Smith's food and drug, better known as Smith's, has 132 stores located in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.
The idea plainsman is for it to be a one-stop shopping center for all your grocery and drug needs. Smith's was founded in 1932 by Lorenzo J Smith in Brigham City, Utah. His son joined the business and began expanding it. Dee Smith, Lorenzo's son, continue to build and add to the company until his death in 1985. By the early 1990s, Smith's had expanded within an attempt to go into the Southern California market.
This expansion into Southern California was completely unsuccessful and resulted in nearly $500 million in debt. By the late 1990s, Smith's have been acquired by Fred Meyer of Portland. Today Smith's food and drug division is owned by the Kroger Company.
Smith's food and drug has many different career opportunities for you to choose from. They have many manufacturing positions available.
