So you just finished another stressful year of college? What are your summer plans? If you are like most college students you are probably short on money and could use a job for the summer. In the current economy, however, many are finding it tough to get the gainful summer employment that the rest of their year so heavily depends on. 1. Fill a Void

As the school year ends and students head home, many companies see some of their best student employees leave them for the summer. This is often a great time to fill a void left by good employees leaving town. 2. Look for Seasonal Work

Meaning that many temporary positions need to be filled only for the duration of the busy season. Some employers desire a commitment of at least a year out of their employees when hiring, which is something that those seeking summer employment aren’t able to give. The good thing about seasonal employment as summer jobs for college students is that they desire no long term commitment from you. Industries that might have extra summer work include painters, river rafting, summer camps, beach and lake facilities, resorts and tourist destinations, golf courses, as well as others.

3. Be Persistent
It is important to remain persistent in your job search because the job market is very competitive in the current economic situation. The market for summer jobs for college students is no different. So if you can’t find a job this summer you can at least find some way to be productive.
