The largest American owned security company is Allied-Barton Security services. The company is a conglomeration of Barton, Spectaguard, Initial and Allied Security. In 1977 Barton Protective Services was founded.
Three years later Spectaguard was founded. Spectaguard acquired Allied Security in 2000, making it the third largest security company in the United States. In 2004 Allied acquired Barton Protective Services and forms Allied-Barton Security Services making it the largest contract security services company in the United States. Two years later they added to their company bay acquiring Initial Security.
Today the company is headquartered in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and employs about 50,000 people nationwide.

Because they contract out to different clients you may find yourself working on contract with a company that is not Allied-Barton. Never fear, you will still be an employee of Allied, they simply will have you working at the client’s site.
