Bank of America is the largest bank holding company in the United States, by assets. It is the second largest bank when you consider market capitalization. It is the second largest non-oil company in the Unites State, second only to Wal-Mart.
The company has its roots in the Bank of Italy which was founded in 1904 by Amadeo Giannini in San Francisco. It was originally set up as a way for immigrants to have banking services when they were denied service from other banks.
The company began to grow and in 1927 he consolidated the 101 branches of the Bank of Italy with the 175 branches of Liberty Bank of America. By 1930 all the Bank of Italy branches were renamed Bank of America. If you bank in the USA, then there’s a pretty big chance you bank BofA or Wells Fargo. These are the two titans of banking in the US.
Bank of America has several different types of employment opportunities for you to take advantage of. One of these areas is Consumer banking.

You are going to be the one that will help the customer reach their financial goals. For many of Bank of America’s 53 million customers these are the people that they see most often. You are the first contact and a friendly helpful attitude is a must.
There are other areas though, you can work in their risk management group, helping to manage the risks that the bank takes, it is a bank and they’re in the business of taking risks.
You can also work in their human resources field, their sales area, help with day to day operations of the company in their operations department or even work in their technology group helping to make banking easier for their millions of customers.
