In 1984 Promus Hotel Corporation opened the first Embassy Suites. It is an upscale chain of all-suite hotels. These hotels different from most hotels with the rooms have a living area separate from the sleeping area.
It also features cooked-to-order breakfast which has a traditional breakfast buffet and guests can create their own omelets. Today there are over 200 Embassy Suites in the United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
A front desk worker at Embassy Suites Hotel is the person that guests are going to come into contact with first. Your job would be to greet the guests as they came in the door.
You’ll have to answer guest inquires about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operations.
You’ll also have to follow all cash handling and credit policies. You’ll have to be familiar with all in-house groups as well as all rates, packages, and special promotions. As the front desk person you’ll have to handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient manner.
They are also in need of food workers. Because they offer a full breakfast they need someone to fix the food. You will need to have a food handler’s license and be able to fix enough food for the guests to enjoy but not so many that there will be a lot of excess. You will also have to be able to bus the tables if necessary and keep the kitchen neat and tidy.
Housekeepers also play an important role in the hotel. As a housekeeper you have to keep the rooms clean. You’ll empty trash bins, dust the furniture, make the bed, and clean the bathroom. You’ll also have to make sure there are clean towels and provide fresh sheets and blankets when necessary. You will also be responsible for keeping common areas of the hotel clean as necessary.
