In 1976 the first Gymboree Play and Music Program started so that parents and children would have a place to play and exercise together.
Joan Barnes created the play center to stimulate children’s development through music, exercise and art. Ten years later the company expanded an opened a chain of clothing stores also known as Gymboree.
These stores offer children’s clothing in sizes ranging from birth to around twelve years of age. Today Gymboree has over 620 retail locations in the United States and Canada.

Probably one of the most important positions is the Sales lead position. This position is an hourly position, meaning you will be paid by the hour. You’ll be required to deliver exceptional customer service and lead a sales team to meeting their sales target. You will also be responsible for supporting the management and promote a positive work environment.
As an assistant manager at Gymboree stores you’ll be required to also to offer exceptional customer service and sales results. You will support the store manager. You must also have a little bit of managerial experience to be offered a position as a new hire. They do like to promote from within so if you show exceptional skills on the sales floor there is a good chance of promotion.
The store manager is a salaried position that is considered a critical job within the company. As a store manager you will be required to lead the store teams to meet their financial obligations in sales while providing excellent customer service.
