The Winn-Dixie grocery stores was founded in 1925 By Wiliam M. Davis and underwent a series of name changes. In 1925, William Davis bought Rockmoor Grocery store that was located in Miami, Florida. Two years later, in 1927, the name was changed to The Table Supply Stores. In 1928, the store was incorporated under the name Winn & Lovett Grocery Company.
Finally, in 1955, the stores became known as Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie has its headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida and over 485 stores in five southern states.
Winn-Dixie is known for selling prestige items, which include higher priced, brand name products. But that’s not all. They have mainstream products under the Winn-Dixie name and Thrifty Maid products. They offer products to suit every budget.
